BC Road Trip Post 1:  Wednesday, June 25, 2014

Tante Kay:
We just talked to Tante Kay on SaltSpring Island, BC.  She is expecting us early on Friday, July 11.  She`ll meet us at her cottage, and maybe take a short drive down to the ocean for tea and a picnic.  

Cousin Erica and Dan Schubart:
After visiting with Tante Kay, we`ll head farther west to see Cousin Erica and Dan Schubart in Port Alberny on Vancouver Island.  Hoping to stay overnight with them and then head back into the mainland on Saturday, July 12.

Departure Date:
Friday June 27  2014:  we`ll pack and be ready to hit the road as soon as I`m done school on Friday.  We hope to get past Sudbury and maybe as far as Wawa, depending on road construction, traffic, weather and some fair winds.  God keep us safe.  

Saturday June 28  2014  The plan is to keep driving up to Thunder Bay by Saturday night, and stay over somewhere.  After that, the drive to Maureen Froese`s place should be less than 4 hours.  That is, if we don`t get covered with blackflies :)  

Sunday June 29 2014  Visit Maureen and look at the work she is doing in Emo.

Monday, June 30 2014  Cross the border into Manitoba and go to Sanford to visit with Kim and Bernie Wiebe and their family.  Hoping to stay overnight and have an early start for Saskatchewan on Tuesday.

Tuesday, July 01  - Wed. July 02  2014  Our goal is to get to Rosthern, Sask.  to hang out with Rob and RuthAnn Koop and maybe see some of their family.  We haven`t really ever spent time in Saskatchewan, so this will be new for us.  

Thursday, July 03 Sunday July 06- drive west to Bragg Creek to spend time with Steve and Brenda Hiebert, Kaitlyn, Tamara and Marcus - or whoever is home at the time.  The Stampede is on the to - do list, if we can get that organized.  We are really looking forward to seeing the Hiebert`s country home and catching up.

Monday July 07  leave to drive through the Rockies to Kelowna BC.  Not sure of the route yet.  Maybe through Crow`s Nest.

Thursday, July 10   Hoping to stop in and see Greig and Jayne Garland in Lion`s Bay BC. 

Friday July 11 Visit Tante Kay on Saltspring Island, then head farther west - can we actually still keep going west?  - and stay with Erica and Dan Schubart in Port Alberny

Saturday July 12  Back to Ruth and John's in Kelowna

Monday, July 14  Meet Pauline and Doug for a bbq at their holiday spot near Kelowna.
